I am underrated because of my unique rap style – D-Black.
Ghanaian rapper Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, popularly known as D-Black has stated that Ghanaians do not understand his unique rap style which is why he is underrated.
According to the “Vera” hitmaker, most Ghanaians do not relate to his rap because he does not imitate anyone and always wants to be himself.
D-Black believes that he is a very good rapper with a unique style but it’s unfortunate that people are not used to his kind of rap.
In reacting to DJ Black’s list of top rappers in Ghana, he stated that where he was placed in the selection was very bad but he’s not worried because that’s his (DJ Black) opinion.
“I know I’m good and most of the DJ’s knows that I’m good. Where DJ Black placed me in his first 50 rappers selection is bad and I know that is his opinion.
Most of the Ghanaian DJ’s doesn’t understand my rapping skills because I don’t imitate someone. Always I try to come out with my own style and I think that is what they don’t like”, D-Black stated.
The Black Avenue Music Boss also stated that he was able to earn a nomination at the 2010 BET AWARDS because people outside Ghana love his rap and can relate to its uniqueness.
