Meek Mill chases Nigerian singer Wizkid for a Feature.
Nigerians have been excited by a piece of great news they saw on social media earlier today.
Music lovers could not keep their calm when American rapper Meek Mill tweeted that he has been chasing Nigerian Afrobeat star Wizkid for a feature for a long time and really wishes to work with him.
Few years ago, it was African acts that were chasing foreign musicians and sometimes begging them for a verse on their songs but the new crop of African music frontrunners have changed the narrative.
In the last couple of years, the world has been forced to love sounds from Africa and are yearning for more thereby making them come down to feature some of our artistes.
Nigerians are in the lead of course with Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido and a handful of musicians rocking shoulders and dining from the same plate as foreign stars.
Wizkid has become a hot cake since he was featured on Beyonce’s Lion King Album and won a Grammy for his song.
Ever since his win, he has gone on to sell out major auditoriums across the globe and features from international superstars.
It all began when a fan from Wizkid’s camp asked if Meek Mill could have a project with the Starboy and the ‘All Eyes On Me’ singer answered in the affirmative.
”#expensivepain @MeekMill you ever dropping some music with @wizkidayo,” the tweep said.
In response, Meek Mill simply quoted the tweet and wrote; ”Need tooo!!!”
